River Wilderness Park Master Plan

The River Wilderness Park is a 75.7 acre natural area adjacent to the Angeles National Forest. The park includes a scenic reach of the San Gabriel River, steep hillsides and a variety of native plant associations. BlueGreen Consulting has produced a master plan that features renovation of existing buildings, trail connections, a river overlook terrace, riparian and upland habitat restoration, infrastructure upgrades, stormwater BMPs and a trail bridge crossing the San Gabriel River. The Canyon Inn plan extends the San Gabriel River Bike Path into the park through the construction of a new trail underpass below the Highway 39 Bridge. Planned facilities include a park pavilion, a group picnic area, new hiking trails, river overlooks, a nature play area, habitat restoration, and a small café concession.
